Following Churchill’s Nobel Prize in literature in 1953, Churchill began working on his epic multi-volume endeavor A History of the English-Speaking Peoples. The collected works were well received by all except Churchill's political rival Clement Attlee who retitled the books, “Things in History that Interest Me”. The work was begun in 1937 and published by Cassell’s between 1956 and 1958 to popular acclaim. The present letter mentions Volume I, entitled The Birth of Britain, published April 23, 1956, Volume II The New World, and Volume III The Age of Revolution.

Letter measures 7.75"x5", encapsulate measures 9.75"x13". The letter is in fine condition, one vertical and horizontal mailing fold, small scatter of ink to the left of Churchill's autograph, hole punch and staple hole to upper left margin, otherwise in very favorable condition. Overall a clean and desirable letter from Churchill.
