Legendary United Kingdom Prime Minister WINSTON S. CHURCHILL early handwritten letter wishing a friend a happy retirement. Signed on the 4th of July 1913 on embossed Admiralty Whitehall stationery, the letter features 50+ words in the hand of Churchill as well as a full signature "Winston S. Churchill" at the bottom.

Dear Inspector Brian - I received your kind letter with great pleasure, and I send you my very best wishes for your health and happiness in the retirement which you have earned by much long & good service. I am sending you a photograph of myself which I hope you may like to have.

Winston S. Churchill"
