Beloved "Alice in Wonderland" author Charles Dodgson, better know by his pen name of LEWIS CARROLL, handwritten postcard signed in the first line of text and certified authentic by James Spence Authentication. In the postcard Dodgson orders books from booksellers B & J F. Meehan out of a catalog.

Dodgson has written:

"Ch. Ch. Oxford

Mr. C. L. Dodgson has received Messrs. Meehan's catalogue No. 27, & wishes to have 237. Edgeworth, Harrington [ if clean inside: state of cover does not matter.] 462. Population - 3/- 1840."


He has also written the address panel on the reverse which reads:
"Messrs. B. & J. F. Meehan,
32 Gay Street,


Document has some soiling, slight bend to right side of postcard. Pencil notations in an unknown hand. Otherwise in near mint condition overall.
