JOHN HANCOCK was a merchant, statesman and prominent Patriot of the American Revolution. He served as President of the Second Continental Congress and was the first and third Governor of Massachusetts. He is remembered for his large and stylish signature on the Declaration of Independence.
Signature is in good condition, signed on vellum, some wrinkling and foxing to the signature consistent with age and use. Red wax seal affixed to the back of the signature.
