Second President of the United States JOHN ADAMS exceedingly scarce Ships Papers with authentic autograph AS PRESIDENT from January 27th, 1800. Originally purchased from highly respected document dealers, Heritage Collectors' Society.  The signature has been partially trimmed due to the scalloped edge of the document, it has also shifted in the frame and is priced accordingly.

This document is signed the same year that Adams would lose re-election to Thomas Jefferson, and is viewed as one of the most important election years in American history.

John Adams (1735 – 1826) was an American statesman and Founding Father who served as the first Vice President (1789–97) and second President of the United States (1797–1801). He was a lawyer, diplomat, political theorist, and a leader of the movement for American independence from Great Britain. Adams's credentials as a revolutionary secured for him two terms as President George Washington’s vice president (1789 to 1797) and also his own election in 1796 as the second president.
