President, General and American Patriot GEORGE WASHINGTON scarce, fine autograph Society of Cincinnati Document. The document is issued to Jonathan Forman Esq. VICE PRESIDENT of the Society of Cincinnati's New Jersey division. The certificate is dated May 24th, 1784 and is one of the earliest documents of it's kind, Washington had only been President of the society for 9 days.

 
Jonathan Forman was a decorated Revolutionary War Veteran having served as a Captain during Valley Forge (1778), and the Battle of Monmouth (1778). He had risen to the position of Brigadier General by the time of his death in 1809.
 
Sale includes accompanying original COA from the highly-respected JSA (James Spence Authentication) who have thoroughly examined the autograph and certify its authenticity.
 
Washington signs just eight months after America had received it's independence.
 
Beautiful document, previously framed by another collector. Document has some discoloration and foxing consistent with age and display; additional paper loss to the bottom of the document, as shown. Otherwise in fine condition overall. Some discoloration to the signature, although it is still legible, as shown. Item is being sold in as is condition.
