ONE OF THE HOLY GRAILS OF SPACE COLLECTING!

From the personal collection of Charlie Mars, Chief of the Lunar Module Project Engineering Office at the time of Apollo 12, comes one of a select few pieces of jewelry FLOWN TO THE MOON. This ladies wedding ring is struck from 14K gold and has a band size of 5 1/2. The ring comes with a typed letter of provenance hand-signed by Charles Conrad who certifies the ring was "Flown to the moon on Apollo 12". This ring spent 3.7 days in lunar orbit and circled the moon 45 times before returning back to Earth on November 24th, 1969.

This item was obtained directly from the American Space Museum, Charlie Mars is President of the Museum and has auctioned off several items from his personal Apollo collection for charity. This ring, along with auction "Lot #142" in the Summer 2020 Space Memorabilia Sale, made up the wedding set for Charlie Mars and his first wife that passed away. Pictured in the listing is the invoice for the ring from the auction.

Unconditionally GUARANTEED GENUINE.

The Provenance letter from Charles Conrad reads:

"This document is to certify that the 'wedding rings' of Charles and Nita Mars were flown to the Moon on Apollo 12. Description: Approximately twice size to show detail" Conrad has then added a diagram of the ring describing its parts as "14K, solid center band, Small Beaded rope effect on each side, faceted each side of center ". Conrad then signs the letter and lists himself as "Charles (Pete) Conrad, Jr. Commander, Apollo 12 Mission".

PLEASE NOTE: This listing is ONLY for the LADIES WEDDING RING. Conrad made two separate COAs for each ring; the mens wedding ring was auctioned separately.
