Andrew Johnson (1808 – 1875) was the 17th President of the United States, serving from April 15th, 1865, to March 4th, 1868. Johnson was Vice President under Abraham Lincoln and following his assassination, was sworn into the office as President of the United States. He was also an intended target of the assassinations that night. Andrew Johnson attempted to mend the deep tears in America after the civil war, furthering reconstruction. Johnson is also the first president to have impeachment proceedings brought upon him. He remained in office very narrowly, he was on vote away from being removed.
Appointment measures approx. 22.5" x 18" document is in exceptionally good condition for being 150 years old.
