Legendary 7th President of the United States ANDREW JACKSON (1767 - 1845) remarkable scarce and authentic hand-signed AUTOGRAPH vellum Land Grant in vintage framed display, dated 1831 - AS PRESIDENT. Jackson served as President of the United States from 1829 - 1837. Exceptional, large signature with characteristic Jackson flourish.

Toning, wrinkling and heavy folds and wear to vellum (186-year old sheep skin) document consistent with age, use and storage, as shown. Tiny puncture just touching the cross-stroke of the "A" in "Andrew", as shown. Nearly undetectable incidental blemishes to display consistent with age, display, handling and storage.  AS SUCH, IT IS PRICED ACCORDINGLY. Overall, an exceptionally fine, handsome and impressive display.

 

ANDREW JACKSON was the seventh President of the United States. Jackson gained national fame through his role in the War of 1812, where he won decisive victories over the Indians and then over the main British invasion army at the Battle of New Orleans. Jackson was appointed commander of the Tennessee militia in 1801, with the rank of colonel. He was later elected Major General of the Tennessee militia in 1802.
