Einstein continued his quest for a Unified Field Theory, publishing an article in Scientific American that same year in 1950. The theory, attempting to fuse the theory of general relativity with the theory of electromagnetism in a single mathematical framework, remained unfinished when Einstein died of an aortic aneurysm just five years later.
