Legendary theoretical physicist ALBERT EINSTEIN typed letter signed to author Max Fishler dated June 19th, 1949 on THE Institute for Advanced Study Stationery. Einstein signs boldly in blue ink at the bottom "A. Einstein". In the letter Einstein thanks Fishler for sending him poetry. Letter also includes original mailing envelope postmarked from Princeton dated June 20th, 1949.

This letter was part of a small lot of 5 signed letters between Einstein and Fishler which sold for $60,000 at PBA Galleries in 2017. While conducting research for his book "What the Great Philosophers Thought About God" Fishler developed a friendship with Einstein. At some point, Fishler became aware that Einstein was a lifelong lover of poetry. In this letter Einstein thanks his friend Fishler for sending him recordings of poetry.
