Incredible Lincoln assassination display featuring a GENUINE DEATHBEAD BANDAGE RELIC of the legendary martyred 16th President of the United States, ABRAHAM LINCOLN, with accompanying COA.
GENUINE DEATHBED GAUZE BANDAGE fragment (appx. 0.5" x 0.5") applied to the dying President, was removed from a larger section featuring "dark colored spotting reminiscent of blood".
PROVENANCE:
DEATHBED BANDAGE: On the night of April 14, 1865, the mortally wounded President Lincoln was carried to a back bedroom at the Person House, dying there early in the morning of April 15th. The fragment of gauze bandage was used in the care of Lincoln and part of a section showing "dark-colored spotting reminiscent of blood." The bandage fragment originated from the Herman Rudd Collection in Buffalo, NY and was previously in the collection of the Holland Purchase Historic Society where they have another piece presently matching this example.
